On being at home and listening to the rain…

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time at home due to the State of Emergency across Japan. We are highly encouraged to stay home unless necessary, as is 90% of the world. Because of such, I have been finding myself with a lot more time on my hands, which has caused me to get creative in how to spend it. In addition to art, I’ve been working in my garden, cooking a lot, messaging friends and family, and surprisingly watching Netflix.

Normally I am not so big on TV or movies. I might see only one or two movies a year. I often don’t even keep my TV plugged in to be honest, but I need some way to generate some sound, besides the rain.

It’s been raining since Friday, though today we had sun-showers in the afternoon. And although it has been a tad wet, I’ve been keeping the window open to listen. The sound of rain has always been relaxing for me and I love the sound of a good downpour in particular.

Aichi SoE Art Challenge: Days 1 to 3

Day 1: Cala Lillies

Recently, Aichi Prefecture declared a state of emergency, which caused a closure of many businesses. Because of this, I have had more time to work on personal endeavors at home. So, I challenged myself to produce a piece of art each day.

Day 2: Rose

As a theme, I decided on flowers. For medium, I pulled out a square Muji craft paper notebook, and oil markers. The paper holds the ink well and doesn’t bleed through.

Day 3: Pansies
