Since the weather has gotten so much nicer (less rain, more cool evenings), I’ve been spending a lot of time outside after work. Not many people are out and about, though there are some teens and old men who like to hang out at the park (completely harmless) and a few people who like to mill around the 7-11 five minutes away from my place. Around the station there are tons of pubs and restaurants and the atmosphere is really loud. After talking and entertaining all day, that’s the last thing I want. I much rather watch some teens set off fireworks at the park, while eating some cheap conbini snacks.
Things have been so busy at work that I’ve been trying to put aside some time each day to go for a walk or relax next to the river. This may be before work, during lunch, or after I get out. Regardless of what part of the day I take my ten-to-twenty, I make sure leave everything behind me during this time. No worrying over deadlines allowed!
I got a call from the company my brother works for yesterday. I was offered a job. The job starts later today. The commute is a bit long, but the pay and hours are good, so I can’t mind too much. Through it, I should be able to start paying down my loans.
From what was said yesterday, it looks like I’m going to be assigned to a similar department as my brother’s. I am now officially another cog in the corporate machine. I’m so happy!! ((I really am, I always wanted to have an office job like this.))
I will probably update either later today or tomorrow about my first impressions of my new job. Of course, I plan to omit anything too incriminating or anything that can traced back to the actual company or myself.
Wish me luck!
