The Sea Candle

A.k.a the Shonan Observatory Lighthouse

The weather wasn’t so great so the top observation deck was closed, but I was able to visit the lower one and get some pictures.

There wasn’t much to do there, but I’m still glad I went. It was an interesting way to spend ten minutes and it got me out of the rain.

This is the bridge you need to cross to get onto the island.

Yoshida Castle

Our second stop after the Oni Matsuri was Yoshida Castle. It was only a ten minute walk, though we took our time.

Because the day we went was a national holiday, it was unfortunately closed to the public. We did get some nice group pictures though.

It’s a Small World

While at Disney, mom and I rode the Small World ride at what we dubbed to be Disney Classic, while we visited California.

It is also one of my mother’s favorite attractions, since she remembers it from when she was a little girl. I admit that there’s something cute, even charming, about it– albeit a little racest. But it’s really a product of it’s time, reflecting some old ideals, while being really optimistic towards a global future.

The ride lasted about five or so minutes, which is long for a theme park ride. It feels like attractions are getting shorter and shorter, while wait times go up.

It was a nice respite from the cool weather that afternoon too. Our first two days in California were overcast and a bit cooler than expected.

The Small World ride was probably one of the better rides to be found at Disney Classic. If you go to the Disney Parks in Cali, I recommend the Pixar Park.

Oasis 21

oasis21_01Oasis 21 is an interesting spot in the Sakae area of Nagoya. It’s surrounded by shopping, restaurants, and parks. This is the Spaceship-Aqua portion of the structure. It’s completely free to visit and very close to the Nagoya TV Tower (another famous Nagoya landmark).

Nakamura Koen

Since I bought my bike, I’ve been able to go to so many more places. It cuts travel time down considerably and motivates my lazy self to exercise a bit.

One day, I decided that I would pick a direction, and bike straight for about fourty five minutes. I didn’t go straight. I didnt bike for just fourty five minutes. I didn’t pass go or collect two hundred dollars. But I did find a somewhat famous park.
