Harvest

Tuesday is a national holiday, which means I get a 3 day weekend, since my usual days off are Sunday and Monday. Originally I had planned to do a bit of traveling, but while my mind is more than willing, th body just isn’t.

My classmate asked me to guard his apple, while he ran to his locker. I couldn’t help but take a picture.

Homemade parfait are made of win.

Some friends of mine decided to make some go-berry style parfaits as part of a bake sale and I was allowed to help. I was given a knife and boxes upon boxes of strawberries and then told to dice them up. You can see my chopped strawberries above. Afterwards, I helped a little with putting the parfaits together until I was sent off to help sell pastries.

Fruity Tart

I may not be able to eat things like this anymore, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy them in other ways. I love pastries. I love the look of them, the smell of them, the elegance of a well made one. Pastries and sweets are not food to me, they are art.

Food

I lost a bet with my co-worker today. I forgot what we were betting about– something about finding something I had thought lost, I think– but the result was that if I were wrong, I would have to go pick up her dinner. Luckily for me, the terms didn’t include my paying for it.

Speaking of which, a friend of mine that works for the corporate office at my mall said that the owners were thinking of getting rid of the food court as it stands now to convert the space into one large buffet style resturant. I don’t get it, but then again they already got rid of my favorite place to eat from last September… so I guess it doesn’t really affect me much.
