This afternoon, I took the leap and applied to a music school in Nagoya. I’ve always been heavily into music and singing in particular, but I’ve always lacked the confidence in singing in front of all but my closest friends and a few choice coworkers. That said, I would love to get more involved in my hobby, so I looked into voice coaches and music schools in my area. After finding a highly rated one and reading their site, I applied for a consultation and trial lesson set for next week.
I’m super nervous, since my voice has gotten pretty rusty after being quite sick in February and the whole State of Emergency thing. I am also a bit wary of the language barrier, since instruction will be entirely in Japanese– which is fine for work related things– with a Japanese teacher. But I look at it this way; if I want into the Japanese music scene, I’ll need it.
