It’s such a great feeling; it not being dark outside come 4 o’clock. Today, I was out and about until after 8 pm, strolling along the main streets of White Plains and looking in the windows of the shops I passed. Let me tell you, it felt wonderful.
The weather was rather nice today, so I spent the majority of it with good people, eating good food. When I headed home around 6, I thought it might be nice to stop by one of my favorite stores to see what new items it had in stock. Since spring is on its way, I hoped some of the cherry blossom themed treats would be making their appearance. To my surprise and delight they had, so I picked out a few nibbles for the week before heading to my next few stops.
The streets were mostly empty, save for a few couples going to various restaurants and employees going home from work. It’s been a while since I could comfortably walk around after sundown, without worrying about the cold or feeling anxious to get home for dinner and get a start on my preparations for the next day. Instead of rushing from one place to the next, I walked at an easy pace, packages in hand, and a smile on my face.
All in all, it was a pretty good evening.
